| Brett Graff is The Home Economist |
|
Brett Graff is the Home Economist, reporting on the economic forces affecting real people. Previously, Brett was an actual economist with the U.S. government, where she measured inflation and calculated employment statistics. She wasn't the least bit surprised when Newsweek called her field the "Sexiest Trade Alive," but made sure to rip out that page. When repeating that claim, she figured people would want proof. Editors, producers and readers say it can be found in her work. Brett's spent much of her career taking economics mainstream and demonstrating over and over again that it's fun, fabulous, and absolutely critical for everyday decision-making. Today, "The Home Economist" is a monthly column in The Miami Herald, while Brett also contributes to Good Housekeeping, Maxim, Ladies’ Home Journal, Redbook, First for Women, American Baby and many more of the country's most widely read publications. (Please find some of her articles below). In addition to her reporting, Brett is the financial expert for The Nest magazine and website. Also, she's been quoted by Cosmopolitan, Los Angeles Times, Women’s Health, Yahoo! finance, The New York Times and by the Fiscal Policy Institute. On television, the Home Economist has appeared on thePBS show, Nightly Business Report, Headline News, CNN's Open House and also CNBC. Brett lives in Miami with her adoring husband and two, fabulous daughters.
