Don't leave it lying around - and tossing it in the garbage isn't good enough

Got leftover Percocet from your C-section? You can't just toss pills like that in the trash - kids and animals can still get a hold of them and face unthinkable consequences. Instead, there's a long list of medicines we have to flush down the toilet because they're deadly. For meds you'll toss in the typical garbage, consider first creating a mixture of - this is gross, but effective - pills and kitty litter in a plastic bag. If it all sounds horrible then good news, this week there will be disposal sites everywhere, so you can just drop off any prescriptions or over-the-counter potions you're not using.
