Perhaps you've heard that consumer prices (yeah, that's what we pay) have taken a dive unseen since 1955. Take a look and see what actually does cost less, and what's actually defying this downward price trend. 

	Gasoline	down 39.3 percent
	Used Cars and Trucks	down 11.8 percent
	Personal Computers	down 14.1 percent
	Lodging Away from Home	down 7.8 percent
	Public Transportation	down 5 percent

The reason the following five expenses seem to be rising is because...they are.

	Educational Books and Supplies	up 7.3 percent
	Hospital and Related Services	up 6.1 percent
	Tuition, School Fees and Childcare	up 5.4 percent
	Water and Sewer and Trash Collection Services	up 5.9 percent
	Food	up 4.4 percent
